I. About Developmental Action without Borders, Naba'a:

Developmental Action without Borders - Naba’a, is a Lebanese NGO operational since 2001. Registered under the Ministry of Interior (no. 104/AD), Naba’a is dedicated to serving all marginalized communities in Lebanon, especially children, without distinction of nationality, color, race, or religion. This includes communities within camps and gatherings in Lebanon, as well as local Lebanese communities.

II. Nabaa's Employment Screening and Protection Protocol:

Developmental Action without Borders, Naba’a, does not employ individuals who are married to children (persons under 18). Naba’a enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination. All prospective candidates must undergo thorough reference and background checks which will mainly verify employment history, professional performance, and adherence to the aforementioned policies. Furthermore, the selected candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening or an equivalent criminal record check as a condition of employment.

  1. 1. Technical Guidance, Monitoring, and Quality Support

     • Provide technical guidance and oversight for the implementation of education activities in schools, learning centers, and informal learning settings.
     • Support and monitor teachers, facilitators, volunteers, and project staff to ensure education activities are implemented in line with project objectives, quality standards, and approved methodologies.
     • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical recommendations to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of education interventions.
     • Monitor the implementation of remedial education, non-formal education, psychosocial support, and awareness activities conducted by field teams.
     • Ensure that education activities are inclusive, child-friendly, gender-sensitive, and responsive to the needs of children with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
     • Follow up on the distribution and documentation of educational materials, learning supplies, and kits to beneficiaries.

     2. Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

     • Monitor attendance, participation, retention, and progress of children enrolled in education activities and provide regular technical feedback to the project team.
     • Conduct field monitoring visits to assess the quality of implementation and identify gaps, challenges, and areas for improvement.
     • Collect, review, verify, and compile project data and documentation, including attendance sheets, assessments, monitoring tools, and activity reports.
     • Prepare regular monitoring and technical reports highlighting progress, challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations.
     • Identify and report any protection, safeguarding, or child protection concerns observed during monitoring activities in line with organizational procedures.
     • Support assessments, surveys, and data collection activities related to education programming when required.

     3. Community Engagement and Coordination

     • Support community outreach and mobilization efforts to promote school enrolment, retention, and participation of children in education activities.
     • Coordinate with parents, caregivers, community leaders, schools, and relevant stakeholders to address barriers affecting children’s access to education.
     • Support and monitor parent meetings, awareness sessions, and community-based education initiatives conducted by project teams.

     4. Additional Responsibilities

     • Provide technical input and recommendations to improve education interventions, tools, and implementation approaches.
     • Carry out other education-related assignments requested by the organization in line with project needs.

     5. Compliance and Ethical Commitments

     • Adhere to and promote Naba’a Developmental Action Without Borders policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct, PSEAH, Child Protection, Safeguarding, Complaints and Feedback Mechanism, and Anti-Corruption policies.
     • Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for beneficiaries and communities throughout the consultancy assignment.

     II) Minimum Qualifications of Education Assistant:

     1. Academic Qualifications:

     • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field in education

     2. Professional Qualifications:

     • Proven experience in educational management, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.

     3. Soft skills (as needed for performing the selected tasks)

     • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
     • Excellent organizational and planning skills
     • Proficient written and verbal communication
     • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

     4. Technical Skills (as needed for performing the selected tasks)

     • Sound knowledge of child protection and education principles
     • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet-based research
     • Strong report writing and documentation skills
