About Project:
This position is under the project titled STEP: Skills Training and Empowerment for Palestinian Youth, which is led by Right To Play – Lebanon in partnership with UNICEF – Palestinian Program.
STEP Project: The Skills Training and Empowerment for Palestinian Youth – STEP is contributing to building adolescents and youth’ skills and education which are relevant to the new market opportunities through a play-based life-skills, career guidance, job readiness, and employability package.
The STEP Project targets vulnerable and school dropout adolescents and youth who will develop essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, while also addressing their specific learning needs and interests. Also, it will stem from a rights-based, integrated, child-centered approaches to reach Palestinian young people, aged 14 to 24 with a package that promotes their learning, upskilling their vocational training and accessing job opportunities.
The project is implemented within Palestinian 7 Camps and 3 Gatherings: North Lebanon: Nahr El Bared, Beddawi, South Lebanon: Saida: Miyeh ou Miyeh and Ein El Hilweh, & Tyre: Burj El Shemali, Rashidieh, El-Buss, Maachouq, Chabriha, Jal El Bahr.
Responsibilities:
The Coach will be under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator. The incumbent will be compensated on monthly basis and will be responsible to:
Conduct training skills development and life skills sessions to all beneficiaries (youth and adolescents)
Coordinate the proper logistics for the training sessions in coordination with the field worker or volunteer
Facilitate group discussions and activities
Track and assess the progress of youth and adolescents throughout the sessions
Document project’s activities through videos and photos
Additional Information:
The trainer/ coach will receive Training of Trainers (ToT) on skills development & life skills, and training delivery.
The trainer/ coach will be expected to deliver 2 to 3 sessions / week to adolescents & youth groups at the partner’s center.
Qualifications:
Vocational or bachelor’s degree, in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or any related field
At least three years of cumulative experience in training / teaching in classrooms
Experience working with adolescents & youth.
Ability to work with diverse groups of young people.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Residing in Ein El Helwe Palestinian Refugee Camp is a must
Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic
In addition to the qualifications above, the selected candidate should be able to work under pressure, especially during emergencies.
