Not every wound left by conflict can be seen.

Some live in silence, in the anxiety that follows ordinary days, and in a sense of safety that needs time, space, and care to be restored.

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, safe spaces were created for women and girls in conflict-affected areas: spaces where no one is expected to be strong all the time, but where they are free to speak, to be heard, and to share what is often too difficult to put into words.

Through activities focused on mental health awareness, psychosocial support, self-care, and coping with stress and the impact of difficult experiences, these sessions became meaningful human moments, where women listened to one another, exchanged support, and gradually regained confidence in themselves and in their ability to move forward.

Mental health is not a luxury in times of crisis, nor is it a secondary part of humanitarian response. It is a right, a foundation for recovery, and a path for women and girls to reclaim their voice, their presence, and their role in life and in their communities.

These activities were implemented in partnership with Institute Circle, with funding from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
