Behind every fishing boat is a family that depends on the sea for its livelihood, and a daily effort that contributes to the life and economy of coastal communities.
In Saida, Developmental Action Without Borders - Naba’a, with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in partnership with Johanniter International Assistance and arche noVa, and in coordination with Saida Municipality, distributed comprehensive fishing equipment kits to 121 fishing boats. This support aims to strengthen fishers’ capacity to sustain their work, improve productivity, and contribute to food security and sustainable livelihoods.
The initiative also promotes women’s economic empowerment through training in fishing net making and maintenance, creating new opportunities for women’s economic participation in coastal communities.
Supporting fishers goes beyond equipping them for their work at sea. It also means helping families build stability and strengthening the future of their communities.
