Success story- Faten

Faten is an out of school child, she is 12 years old, she lives with her family in Sofsaf area/ Ein El Helweh camp, the family consist of the parents, 2 girls and 2 boys, her father is sick and he works in car Mechanics but his work is not continuous due to the political situation inside the camp,. Faten was very aggressive and hyperactive, also she is very talkative and this prevented her to concentrate in the illiteracy lessons (she joined the illiteracy lessons & psycho-social activities inside Nabaa center for community development in Ein El Helweh camp). Faten was very weak in reading and writing but now and after her regular attendance to the out of school program she become more participative, and her performance become better in which she become better in reading and writing and accepting others. Also, Faten’s behaviour becomes better after her participation in many psychosocial activities to help her in reducing her aggressiveness, hyperactivity and talkative, in addition to her participation in other non – formal activities such as drawing and painting, computer, handicrafts and home economics. Faten become now more participative, and communicate with other children in peaceful ways.

Success story of Sanaa

Sanaa is a girl in the 7th grade, she feels scared from dealing and playing with male children, as well as taking with girls. This makes her un confident and feels alone as she tries to be away from others, in addition this affected her education and scholastic performance negatively.  
 

How did Sanaa expressed her problem

 

How did Snaa relased her stress and fears?  

The psychologist and community workers, defined sanaa case… then upon their problematic identification. The process of working and following up Sanaa began through including her in various psycho-social activities with males and females children. Then she was included with activities that help in expressing the self freely, releasing stress, tension..
 

Now Sanaa is a different one, she developed her behaviour ,   skills and educational performance. So she become self confident, a member in CTC committee and chief person of Health committee.

She also become participative with other children of both genders (males and female) in various activities. Sanaa in her free time helps other children especially those who are weak in reading and writing.
